ACLU Defends Sex In a Public Restroom

Posted on January 15, 2008

Update: Allahpundit tries his hand at legal analysis.

In the seemingly never ending Larry Craig Debacle, fondly known behind the scenes here at Stop the ACLU as Water Closet Gate, the ACLU has filed a brief pointing out that a court ruling in Minnesota Supreme Court ruling 38 years ago found that people who have sex in closed stalls in public restrooms “have a reasonable expectation of privacy.”

In an effort to help Idaho Sen. Larry Craig, the American Civil Liberties Union is arguing that people who have sex in public bathrooms have an expectation of privacy.

Along with all of the other twisted, amoral and degrading issues the ACLU backs, (defending NAMBLA, child porn and legalizing drugs) just to name a few we now get to add sex in a bathroom stall? Assuming that sex in a public restroom would most likely be between members of the same sex (excepting of course those rare times when some couple out for a more dangerous encounter end up in the same restroom), since most restrooms in this country are segregated by sex, as they should be, the ACLU is actually putting children in danger of hearing, possibly even seeing, homosexual sex acts in a public restroom.

I don’t know about you, but I have an 8 year old son, and the thought of having him come across a rope smoker going at it with his boy toy in a public restroom ticks me off….how does one explain to an 8 year old why the man in the stall was moaning and banging on the stall wall at Burger King? Constipation?

Larry Craig is an embarrassment and the ACLU is contributing to the moral decay in this country. And before any of you start complaining in comments about my “homophobic” commentary, let me say right now that my friends that are gay (and there are some) are extremely embarrassed at the prevailing publicity on what is termed “Gay Culture.” They are embarrassed by the stereotypes promulgated by the media and they are incensed (as only a gay man could be) by the never ending drive by the leftist media and the ACLU to drag even more aspects of a campy culture that in reality reflects a minority of gay men into the mainstream conscience to highlight it as mainstream.

Sex in a public bathroom is not acceptable, any more than crapping on a table at a restaurant would be, and the sick and twisted cretins that try to say it is are warped and in dire need of lobotomies.

The the ACLU’s argument is laughable on its face: “…sexual intimacy that would not have called attention to itself in a closed stall in the public restroom.”

Key word: “public.” Anyone imagine NOT being aware of sexual relations taking place in a “closed stall” one door over, what with four sets of feet, grunting and moaning and all the other acoutrements of getting it off? Pull the other one, doofuses. Heck, you don’t even have any real privacy when just taking a dump. (Splash, splash, gas, gas, “courtesy flush,” splash, splash… ) An “expectation of privacy” in a public facility is only present in folks who are idiots, loons or ACLU.

Now, if Craig had been busted in a hotel room, the ACLU would have had an argument.

Nice. Will the american Communist lawyers union now demand private rooms be installed in airports, for this type of activity? What about for pedophiles, since they are also due their sexual freedoms? And counselors for the kids afterwards, eh?

This has very little to do with Larry Craig and much more to do with protection of a current feature of the gay lifestyle, which is one of their core constitutencies and principles.

It may be called homophobic but looked at in this light their position makes more sense. Protection of their favorites is foremost even to detriments of children and decency.

Not to mention they are idiots.

Wasn’t too sure he was guilty until the ACLU came to his rescue. No matter what kind of sex, it should not be performed in a public rest room. Right? The ACLU is a disgrace and danger to our country’s well-being. Although they seem to be right on the voting machine issue in Cleveland. Even a blind squirel…Love your website, just found it.
