Terrorist Supporting Lawyer, Lynne Stewart, Gets Slap On The Wrist
Posted on October 16, 2006
After begging for mercy, terrorist supporting jihad lawyer Lynne Stewart recieved the light sentence of 28 months. A slap on the wrist for a traitorous moonbat.
Civil rights lawyer Lynne Stewart was sentenced this afternoon to 28 months in prison on a terrorism charge for helping an Egyptian sheik communicate with his followers on the outside.
The 67-year-old Stewart, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, smiled as the judge announced his decision to send her to prison for less than two-and-a-half years. She had faced up to 30 years in prison.
Stewart’s defense lawyer, Elizabeth Fink told the judge just before the sentence was pronounced: “If you send her to prison, she’s going to die. It’s as simple as that.”
Stewart was convicted in 2005 of providing material support to terrorists. She had released a statement by Omar Abdel-Rahman, a blind sheik sentenced to life in prison after he was convicted in plots to blow up five New York landmarks and assassinate Egypt’s president.
Yes, I’m dissapointed. This traitor deserved to die in prison…it’s as simple as that. This is an absolutely outrageous ruling letting this scumbag get off so light! Her defense was funded by non other than Soros of course. And just in case you were wondering, yes the judge was a Clinton appointee. If the Dems win in November we will get more of judges like this.
LGF
For her part in aiding the global jihad by disseminating messages from imprisoned World Trade Center bomber Omar Abdel-Rahman, radical leftist lawyer Lynne Stewart has received an outrageously light sentence:
LGF also updates that one of her co-conspirators got 24 years!
In The Bullpen
Imagine for a moment if Stewart was an American Arab Muslim. Do you not think the 28-month sentence would have been drastically longer given what Stewart did? I don’t think this is an issue of racial discrimination against Arabs, but rather in favor of Stewart. She could have recieved a max of 30 years, but the judge in the case felt only 28 months was sufficient . . . I suppose.
Wow! I learn even more from Captain Ed:
The judge said Stewart could remain free while she appeals, a process that could take more than a year.
Captain has more…here is a bit.
Koeltl sent a message today that certain people can commit or enable acts of terror, as long as they have the correct political background. Stewart will do a few months at a minimum security work camp, and with her illness will probably avoid the work part of it. When she gets released, she will once again become the toast of the hate-America circuit, where she will once again claim she did nothing wrong and that the real terrorists are the people who have tried — and succeeded — to keep this country safe for the last five years.
It’s a pathetic display, and Koeltl should be ashamed of himself.
Amen to that.

Let’s Make an Example of the Jihad Lawyer

Courts Supporting Terrorists?
Ya know, I’m real sorry she has breast cancer, but as far as I’m concerned, treason is a hanging offense. And to me, what she did was treason. It’s that whole “aiding and abetting” thing, ya know?
Sentencing Day
So what sentencing guideline did the judge rely upon in sentencing Stewart? Also, why the discrepancy between Sattar’s sentence and Stewarts. Both were convicted of the same crime, and Stewart’s presence was what enabled Sattar to transmit the inform…

Did she loose her license to practice law in the United States?
What the heck is a “jihad lawyer” other than an attempt to evoke emotion? Nothing, right. Next time throw in a couple more meaningless words. Try this: “Osama loving Jihad-fascist-islamo-nazi-lawyer moonbat.” There you go, that’s better.
Many primary sources clearly show that the letter was meant to persuade but was nowhere near ‘begging for mercy’ in any way shape or form. In fact, to the end she has still clearly articulated that she feels her actions were justified, if not executed in an ideal way. Neither the substance of the case, nor her stated or implied position in any way, shape or form shows her to be a terrorism supporter. She felt for the blind man she was defending who was losing his mind. Regardless she still continuously and unwaveringly denounced his actions. Also, she wasn’t charged with treason.
Like her or not, that’s fine, but every single substantive statement in your introduction is demonstrably wrong.
Excellent reporting.
Jim, I really don’t care if she was charged with treason or not…this is a blog of my opinion and I think she should have been. I also think she was begging for mercy, and that she is an idiot that supported terror in what she did. Feel sorry for her all you want. Bleed your little heart out.

Stewart is appealing the case, and will remain out of prison on bail, pending the hearing. As if the 28 months wasn’t short enough?!
Prosecutors were extremely disappointed in the judge’s reduction in the sentence, and are considering an appeal of their own.
They should. And I’m still trying to figure out what sentencing guidelines the judge followed to reach his result for it would appear that he didn’t follow them at all.
Absolutely…the prosecution should definitely appeal as well.

Jimmy,
You realize you have now painted her as an unrepentant oath breaker who knew she was committing treason and is proud of it. Her reasons for doing it are really irrelevant. From what you say she fell for the sob story of a terrorist. I have my doubts that a qualified lawyer is that much of a fool.
Feeling Sorry for The Traitor Lynne Stewart
