Iran Terror Threat Growing

Pre-emptive action is sometimes necessary. Britain took pre-emptive action in World War II, slowing the German advance by days and preventing a full invasion of the British Isles. We took pre-emptive action in Iraq, eliminating a tyrannical dictator and liberating an oppressed people. Pre-emptive action may once again be necessary, this time against Iran.
First, let us look at the money trail. Iran has long supported the radical terrorist group Hezbollah, providing them with funds and weaponry to fight the Israelis and to fight in Lebanon. Iran is now taking a step up, providing massive funds to Hamas, the group of tyrants now in control of “Palestine.”
IRAN PLEDGES $50 MILLION TO HAMAS
TEHRAN, April 16 (UPI) — Iran is pledging $50 million in aid to the Palestinian government in the wake of withdrawal of financial support by the United States and the European Union.
The pledge was announced at the conclusion of a three-day conference in Tehran which brought together some 600 Palestinian militant leaders and their supporters from Muslim countries, The New York Times reported Sunday.
Iran’s foreign minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, announced the donation and warned of a humanitarian disaster unless the United States and European Union resume their aid.
The suspensions followed Hamas’ unexpected electoral victory in January and were aimed at increasing pressure on the militant group to renounce violence and recognize Israel.
The suspension of funds to Hamas by Western nations was only logical. Hamas has only used funding to promote Islamofascist terrorism and they still refuse to recognize the nation of Israel. The organization has long been behind suicide bombings, assassinations, mortar attacks, and shootings. The United States and other organizations have long recognized Hamas as a radical terrorist group, and now Iran is directly funding them. Hamas is one of several groups which basically has a working partnership with Al-Qaeda. This partnership has expanded since the start of the War on Terror.
If Iran supporting known terrorists isn’t enough evidence that they are a direct threat to the United States and our allies, then the following revelation should be. Pre-emptive action is necessary in this situation, because of Iran’s recent actions. The following may shock you.
TEHRAN THREATENS WEST WITH HOMICIDE ATTACKS
TEHRAN, Iran — Iran has formed battalions of suicide bombers to strike at British and American targets if the nation’s nuclear sites are attacked. According to Iranian officials, 40,000 trained suicide bombers are ready for action.
The main force, named the Special Unit of Martyr Seekers in the Revolutionary Guards, was first seen last month when members marched in a military parade, dressed in olive-green uniforms with explosive packs around their waists and detonators held high.
Dr. Hassan Abbasi, head of the Centre for Doctrinal Strategic Studies in the Revolutionary Guards, said in a speech that 29 Western targets had been identified: “We are ready to attack American and British sensitive points if they attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.” He added that some of them were “quite close” to the Iranian border in Iraq.
Iran has basically declared it’s intention of attacking Western targets to protect it’s nuclear facility. While this is likely a bluff, Iran is attempting to shoot itself onto the global stage, intimidating the West. Iran’s nuclear program is a threat to us and our allies, and this new threat from Iran should be taken as a legitimate security risk. I think the United States needs to seriously examine security within the United States and in regions such as Iraq where large numbers of U.S. soldiers are present. Iran has already been funneling weapons and supplies to the terrorists in Iraq, and now they may very well be sending their own suicide bombers.
What do we do? I suggest we first examine the security situation across the Greater Middle East. We need to secure our citizens and soldiers, then somehow eliminate Iran’s uranium enrichment capabilities. Once this is done, we need to make sure Iran doesn’t take any real military action. Pre-emptive action is dangerous, and many times costly. It’s also often necessary.
