Kerry Says He Will Vote Against Alito

Posted on January 22, 2006

Via Blogs for Bush, not really a suprise!

Sen. John Kerry said Sunday he will vote against Supreme Court nominee Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. because he fears Alito would take the country “backwards.”

Kerry, the failed Democratic nominee for president in 2004, also voted against now-Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. But Alito, Kerry said Sunday, goes even farther than Roberts in undermining established legal precedents.

A flash point during Alito’s confirmation hearings was a 1985 memo he wrote saying that the “Constitution does not protect a right to an abortion” despite the Supreme Court’s 1973 Row v. Wade decision.

“I think he will shut the door of court access to the average person in America … ,” Kerry said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.” “I will vote against him because I think he will take the court backwards.”Source

Matt at Blogs for Bush rightly pin points Kerry’s ignorance.

I guess that means Kerry thinks that slavery and segregation should still be legal because they were “established legal precedents.”

Don’t forget the fact that women have the right to vote now. I guess Kerry didn’t like that legal precedent either.

This just in…sky still blue. Did anyone think a yes vote from Kerry was even a possibility? It really doesn’t matter anyway because John Kerry is irrelevant in all aspects.

I watched the show. Kerry was in Campaign mode. He is going to run again and thinks he can break the curse that losers can win.

He is not voting no for Alito because of any philosophical or ideological differences. He would have voted no if the candidate was just like Ginsburg. He is voting no because Bush nominated her.

What is more dangerous, are his views of India and Pakistan. He just came back from a vacation, ahem, political inquiry, into their economies. He lauded them. He praised their economic progress and claimed they will jointly be a direct threat to the US.

India is one of the worse places in the world to own and operate a business. It takes near forever to start one due to the bureaucratic hurdles that engender corruption one must overcome. The same bureacracies and regulators make staying in business a nightmare. Pakistan is no better. Further, the regime is a dictatorship. This is the main reason that so many people from those countries emigrate here to start businesses.

Democrats love bureaucracies and regulatory agencies, it keeps government in the job creation business, government jobs. They love dictatorships. It has to do with loving control. Control the population, you control the votes.

Kerry is phony, as most Americans believe, and he votes with his election in mind. But he is not nearly as bad as what Gore has been saying. Wow, unhinged doesn’t describe the hatred for President Bush that Gore spouts. This shows how much a man can hate when he is a sore loser and he knows his opponent is a better man in every way.

  12. ryan on January 23rd, 2006 10:11 pm

It’s ironic Kerry used the word “backwards” to describe Judge Alito when he is still fighting an election that happened over a year ago. Judge Alito will be confirmed without the help of Kerry and his ilk.

Gore is just theatrical. His own party does not take him seriously. He is the thousand year old man. He wrote the Bible, helped write the Declaration of Independence, wrote the Bill of Rights, invented the internet, discovered global warming, etc.

He probably invented Kool Aid, for all we know. He is the stand up comic of the Democratic Party. They laugh at him as much as we do. Gore is the only one who takes himself seriously. He is harmless.

Kerry is dangerous. He has an International following of like minded lost souls who have real money and power. People like George Soros. He is surrounded by dangerous people with dangerous ideas. They are not through with us yet.

Let him vote against Alito. Maybe people will wise up and vote against him. Former Senator Kerry has a certain pleasant ring to it.
