The ACLU Are Well Organised Extremists Copying Off the Same Page

Posted on December 12, 2005

This is interesting. Who called Christian organizations defending Christmas, “Well organised extremists out to demonize the ACLU, crush religious diversity, and make a few bucks in the process?”

Was it (a). Joe Cook, executive director, ACLU of Louisiana, Baton Rouge?
Was it (b). Fran Quigley is the executive director of the Indiana Civil Liberties Union?
Or was it (c.) All of the above?
If you guessed C, give yourself a cookie!

Joe Cook writes this:

David Kimball (letter Dec. 3) has chosen to ignore the truth and join a well-organized attempt by extremist groups to demonize the ACLU, crush religious diversity and help some folks make a few bucks in the process. Sadly, this self-serving effort is being promoted in the guise of defending Christmas.

Wait! Wait! A little more:

In truth, Mr. Kimball and Web-site Christians have ironically chosen to take Christ out of the season. Nowhere in the Sermon on the Mount did Jesus Christ ask believers for narrow-mindedness and intolerance, especially for those already marginalized and persecuted. Instead, the New Testament — like the Torah, the Koran and countless other sacred texts — says to love your neighbor and to comfort the sick and the imprisoned.

Can anyone find me the passage where the Koran says to love your neighbor? Just curious!

Fran Quigly said this:

We get this type of correspondence a lot, mostly in reaction to a well-organized attempt by extremist groups to demonize the ACLU, crush religious diversity and make a few bucks in the process. Sadly, this self-interested effort is being promoted in the guise of defending Christmas.

Hmmm…talk about well organised! Were these two cheating off of each others papers? Or perhaps we could have two ACLU offices soon to be sueing each other for plagarism? Why didn’t the ACLU National HQ just put out a press release with the damn form letter? They must think us extremists are not sharp enough to notice?

Oh well, as we said before, we all know who the well organised extremists are.

    Great catch, Jay.
Not much diversity in their writing.
    Maybe they need diversity training!
Maybe they need Jesus; it couln’t hurt them (could it?).

Too funny. It’s always fun to turn the liberals’ pet words against them.

If only one could get inside their elite office to acquire their general in commands paper.

It appears there is one mouthpiece that pushes out to all their little offices/officers. Definitely appears they are in it for the war.

Are we seriously expected to believe that the RNC doesn’t have the same thing?

#6: It would be kind of hard to label the RNC as extremists or elitists, since they carry the majority of popular opinion in our country.

I love how the ACLU interprets Scripture. So called “intellects” have always played word games with one verse here, one verse there, all in a desperate attempt to either contradict Christianity, or contradict us Christians specifically. Any interpretation of any document from a group who believes we are biological accidents is suspect.

Isn’t “religious diversity” just a oxi-moron? It seems that diversity takes away all limits and religion subscribes to limitations or boundaries!
