Roy Moore For Governor of Alabama
Posted on October 4, 2005
“It is time that the American people awake to the true meaning of separation of church and state and our unique relationship to God as a Nation,” explains Moore. “No longer can we afford to sit quietly by while the A.C.L.U. and others take away our right to publicly acknowledge God secured by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.”
Those are the words of Judge Roy Moore, the infamous judge that stood up to the ACLU in Alabama, in his new book, So Help Me God. I will be buying this book very soon for sure.
I was born and raised in Bama, roll tide! The courage of this man to stand up to the ACLU the way he did is more than honorable, it was heroic. He spoke for the majority in Alabama over the ten commandments in the Courtroom. And now this voice for the people is running for a higher office…the governorship.

Roy Moore (search), who became a hero to the religious right after being ousted as Alabama’s chief justice for refusing to remove a monument of the Ten Commandments (search) from the courthouse, announced Monday that he is running for governor in 2006.Moore’s candidacy could set up a showdown with Gov. Bob Riley a fellow Republican, and turn the Ten Commandments dispute into a central campaign issue in this Bible Belt state.
Two Democrats, Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley and former Gov. Don Siegelman are already running. The Republican and Democratic primaries are June 6.
Moore, 58, said that if elected, he has no plans to relocate the Ten Commandments monument from its new home at a church in Gadsden.
“But I’ll tell you what I will do. I will defend the right of every citizen of this state - including judges, coaches, teachers, city, county and state officials - to acknowledge God as the sovereign source of law, liberty and government,” he said.
Back in 2000, the people of Alabama elected Moore as Chief Justice of the State Supreme Court. He later installed a huge ten commandments memorial at the state judicial building. Via the ACLU, he was ordered to remove it, but he stood his ground. His fellow justices finally had the monument removed after a huge showdown. He fought the ACLU all the way to the Supreme Court before giving in to the ACLU.
To those who have criticized him as a one-issue candidate, Moore said Monday that his main issue is summed up by his campaign theme: “Return Alabama to the people.”
Moore signed a giant copy of his campaign platform that called for limiting legislators to three terms, barring lawmakers from holding two state jobs, ending annual tax reappraisals of property and imposing new penalties on businesses that employ illegal immigrants.
A hero in my book. I will be urging my family to vote for him. I like his platform too, and he’s got my full endorsment. I think the fine state of Alabama would be doing itself a huge service by voting this man into the governorship.

hey I agree , Hope he wins … we need more like him ..((( Hint )))
I believe Judge Moore would be a good governor — but, I live in AL and there are some things that the religious base here does I don’t agree with. We need the lottery here, and it’s not that I play, but living on the GA/AL border, I know many people in AL that drive to GA to play the lottery - why should those funds go to GA’s kids and not stay in AL?? Because in the strict right’s eyes, gambling is a sin.
I am the State Coordinator for Alabama and I totally am behind Judge Roy Moore and we need to elect him and send a strong message to the ACLU of Alabama! We do not need a lottery here in the state of Alabama and I will be addressing this soon on my other site:http://www.frontlineevangelism.com.
You don’t have to be in the right-wing to see that gambling is not just a Christian issue it has social implications as well as others. There are clear principles in the Bible that say it is a sin and God’s word is where I stand rather the right or left wing agree or not.
until the ACLU is out of business,

Now to “win” the Moore gang will have to control the e-voting machines that are in the hands of the corporistas.
Unless divine intervention strikes.
But I would not wait on it.
BTW I linked from American Imperialist, a False Flag site run by Iranian Royalists. Now why would they have us on there site? mmmmmm
Whether or not Roy Moore is a hero, he is definitely a brilliant legal mind. HE should have been Pres. Bush’s nominee for the Supreme Court instead of Mier. Moore has a fantastic grasp of American history and Constitutionality.
Oh, and he hates the ACLU! He’s brilliant.
